Akil Hardrick, or as the world knows him – Killy Capone, is
an innovator when it comes to his music. Where most stay in one lane and onto
the next trend, Killy has found a way to brand and branch off of the newest
sounds. But this is nothing new for him. Killy was introduced to music at a
very young age. His late father was a successful, underground rapper by the
name of Chiedazo. His music reigned supreme from Johnstown, PA to Harrisburgh,
PA. You can still find his only released mixtape “Da Ish” on several music
platforms still to this day. Killy Capone took his father’s love of hip-hop and
made it his own. Like so many, Killy realized that he had a story to tell that
not only spoke about him but it spoke about others in similar situations. He
has taken the popular trend of “trap” music and put a retro spin on it. As his
namesake implies, it’s not about the “trap” in itself but the mobsters that
control not only the “trap” but most things in society. You can hear these stories in his current
released songs like “Mobster” and “Vito” and the entire mixtape “MOLL”.
Expanding the genre of “trap” into a new brand of music that can be referred to
as “mobster” music is all in a day’s work. At the young age of 19, Killy Capone
will be force that many won’t want to reckon with on the stage or in the
studio.
